Building Regulations (Part G)

Building Regulations Part G

The Building Regulations set standards for the design and construction of buildings, primarily to ensure the safety and health for people in or around those buildings.

WRc supported Communities and Local Government in developing the new Approved Document G. The new edition of Part G (sanitation, hot water safety and water efficiency) published in 2010, brings about significant changes to the design of hot and cold water supplies in buildings.

Through this website WRc provides you with:

  • An overview of the changes to Part G.
  • Answers to frequently asked questions on the Part G of the Building Regulations.
  • Further training options on understanding Part G and the water calculator.
  • Guidance on the new Regulation 17K
  • Detailed guidance and a FREE online water efficiency calculator which exactly follows the methodology in CLG's 'The Water Efficiency Calculator for New Dwellings'
